PURPOSE:To achieve the enhancement in durability, quality reproducibility, or the like while maintaining the maneuvering stability at the time of high-speed running, by using, as a belt member, a polyvinylalcohol tire cord characterized by satisfying specific requirements equally. CONSTITUTION:As the belt member of a pneumatic tire, a polyvinylalcohol tire cord characterized by satisfying the following requirements equally is used. (1) The polymerization degree of a polyvinylalcohol polymer constituting fibers is to be 2000 or more. (2) 500<=twist coefficient <=1500. (3) Tensile strength>=11.0 g/d. (4) 0.5<=MDE<=1.2%. (5) 0.2<= S<=1.4%. (6) Cord stiffness<=20. Where, MDE=intermediate elongation, S=dry shrinkage percentage, Cord stiffness=G/ nominal finenessX1000, G=maximum bending stress of cord (g/cord). Thus, while maintaining the maneuvering stability at the time of high-speed running, the durability, fatigue resistance, quality reproducibility, or the like can be enhanced.
