PURPOSE:To improve the detection accuracy by providing a first electric contact abutted with three code areas specifying a cartridge and second and third electric contacts abutted with the other code areas and short-circuiting the second and the third electric contacts. CONSTITUTION:The first electric contact A abutted with at least one of three code areas E2-E4 in second-fourth places out of six code areas E1-E6 of a film cartridge 2, the second electric contact A2 abutted with a fifth code area E5, and the third electric contact A3 abutted with a sixth code area E6 are provided, and the second and the third electric contacts A2 and A3 are short-circuited. A constitution equivalent to the electric contact abutted with the first code area E1 is attained by the second and the third contacts, and it is detected whether the code area with which the first contact A1 is abutted is a conductive area or a non-conductive area in accordance with conduction or non-conduction between the first contact A1 and second and third contacts A2 and A3. Thus, there is a margin of installation positions of electric contacts and contacts are prevented from being abutted with adjacent code areas caused by misalignment to surely detect the film sensitivity.
