TRANSFER RECORDING MEDIUM AND TRANSFER RECORDING METHOD

PURPOSE:To obtain a transfer recording medium adequate for storing characters or picture images with high resolution by providing a heat transferable solid ink layer via an intermediate layer contg. a photodecomposable compd. and opto-thermal conversion material on a light pervious base. CONSTITUTION:Representative constitution of the transfer recording material is provided with the heat transferable solid ink layer 4 via the intermediate layer 9 contg. the photodecomposable compd. and opto-thermal conversion material on one face of the light pervious base 1. Various heat resistant resin films are used for the light pervious base 1 and the adequate thickness of the film is in a 4-30mum range. The binder material adequate for the intermediate layer 9 is selected from thermoplastic resins, waxes or rubber. The photodecomposable compd. to be compounded with the intermediate layer 9 is essentially required to be quickly photodecomposed by light contg. UV rays, visible rays and IR rays. Diazo compds. and azide compds. are exemplified as the material adequate for said compd. The transfer with high resolution and high density is thereby permitted even with an image receiving sheet having low surface smoothness.
