of the disclosure: The invention relates to new 2-ketosulfonamides of the formula and to a process for their preparation, wherein the reaction mixtures obtained by reacting enamines of the formula with sulfamoyl halides of the formula are hydrolyzed to the 2-ketosulfonamides. The 2-ketosulfonamides of the formula I, according to this invention are precursors for new plant protection agents and pharmaceuticals. These compounds are also analogs of acylacetamides, which in turn are coupling components for azo dyes and pigments.
