PURPOSE:To control output voltage by mounting resistor forming a time constant together with the capacitance of a capacitor for a rectifier circuit and controlling the width of input rectangular pulse by utilizing the time constant. CONSTITUTION:A Cockcroft-Walton type voltage multiplying circuit has a first capacitor circuit, in which a plurality (four) of capacitors C1-C4 are connected in series, and a second capacitor circuit, in which capacitors C5-C8 in the same number as the capacitors C1-C4 are connected in series, and diodes D1-D8 are each connected to respective output terminal c-j. A rectangular AC power PC is connected between input terminals a, b, and a load resistor RL is connected between the input-output terminals b, j for the second capacitor circuit. A resistor r1 is connected in series with the diode D1 nearest to the input terminal. Accordingly, a time constant is set by the resistor r1 and the capacitor C1, and input pulse width is controlled, thus fluctuating output voltage.
