<p>The liquid phase contng. the components to be completely or partly separated is brought into contact with a second liquid, consisting of a solvent in which those components are inherently insoluble in which a dissolved substance which is insoluble in the first liquid, reacts reversibly with the components, the reaction products being soluble in the solvent of the second liquid. The two liquids are then separately, physically and the second, in which are the dissolved reaction products is brought into contact with a third liquid when the reaction is reversed by a substance with a still higher affinity for the dissolved products of the original reactions with the components to be extracted.</p> |
