PURPOSE:To ensure working with a high accuracy at any sliding speeds, by applying a pressure oil between a sliding passage of a sliding guide member and a working table, providing a high-speed feeding means and a low-speed feeding means, and selectively operating these feeding means to slide the working table. CONSTITUTION:In siding a working table 6 at high speed, a high-speed feeding means 10 is operated to apply its driving force to a substantially central position of a side surface of the working table 6 perpendicular to a moving direction thereof, thereby accurately moving the working table 6 along a sliding passage of a sliding guide member 3. In sliding the working table 6 at low speed, a low-speed feeding means consisting of a screw rod 15 and a connecting sleeve 17 is operated to apply its driving force to the working table 6 from its outer side and thereby apply a torque to the working table 6. However, since a pressure oil is present on the sliding passage, the working table 6 is less influenced by the torque, thereby accurately moving the working table 6. Accordingly, highly accurate working may be achieved.
