PRODUCTION OF MAGNETIC DISK

摘要

PURPOSE:To obviate generation of troubles by head crash by forming an inorg. nitride layer or inorg. carbide layer on a magnetic recording medium and forming an inorg. oxide layer by a solvent coating method on the inorg. nitride layer or inorg. carbide layer, thereby providing a coating layer to the medium. CONSTITUTION:After a thin gamma-Fe2O3 film 3 is formed on a substrate 1, the inorg. nitride layer or inorg. carbide layer 5 is formed thereon and the inorg. oxide layer 6 is formed on the inorg. nitride layer or inorg. carbide layer 5 by the solvent coating method. The inorg. nitride layer or inorg. carbide layer 5 and the inorg. oxide layer 6 formed on the inorg. nitride layer or inorg. carbide layer 5 have high bonding force to the magnetic recording medium 3 and play the role of protecting the recording medium. The troubles by the head crash are thereby decreased and the durability is improved.
