PURPOSE:To greatly simplify the outdoor control circuit of an outdoor unit and to manufacture the air conditioner at a low cost as a whole by providing a relay circuit acting in synchronism with a serial control signal in an indoor control circuit and taking out a relay circuit output in parallel to the serial control signal. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 33 controls the rotation of an indoor blower 38 through an indoor blower relay 37 from the switch input of an operating switch 35 and from the sensor input of a temperature sensor 36. On the other hand, the rotation control command of an outdoor blower 41 of an outdoor unit 50, an actuation command of a coil for a compressor relay 44 controlling an electromagnetic relay contact 43 for turning on and off a compressor 42, and a control command to outdoor control parts such as a four-way valve changeover command or the like are outputted as serial control signals A. Further, a relay circuit 34 is provided with an operation synchronizing relay 39 acting in synchronism with an ON-OFF operation signal of a compressor 42 at the time of a space cooling mode operation in addition to an indoor blower the indoor blower relay 37, and a relay output B is taken out of an indoor control circuit 32 and hence from an indoor unit 40 in parallel to the serial control signal A.
