PURPOSE:To inform a user of the actual temperature of a heating surface to, by a method wherein, if the temperature of a heating surface is increased to a control value by means of an output from a resistor, the temperature of the heating surface is prevented from following the change in temperature of the heating surface, and the increase to the control temperature is outputted to an informing means. CONSTITUTION:A control temperature is stored in a memory means 4 by means of a temperature set means 1. The temperature of a heating surface is detected by a temperature detecting means 2, and the temperature is stored in a memory means 15. Since it can be decided by a resistor 16 whether the temperature of the heating surface is increased to a control value, it is decided by means of an output from the resistor whether an output from the temperature detecting means 2 is received. If the temperature of the heating surface is increased to a control value, control is mode so that only the control temperature is displayed without receiving the output from the temperature detecting means 2, and simultaneously control is effected by a control means 7 so that information is given by means of a reporting means 10. As noted above, a control temperature and the temperature of the heating surface are displayed until the temperature of the heating surface is increased to a control value, and when increased to the control value, reporting is effected, and it can be reported to a user when a food to be cooked is placed in a cooking device.
