<p>The invention relates to 2-aminomethylphenols of the formula I (I) in which R represents hydrogen or alkyl having 1 or 2 C atoms, R1 represents alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl or cycloalkenyl, it being possible for each of these radicals to be substituted with 1 to 5 halogen atoms, R2 and R4 denote hydrogen, halogen, alkyl or alkoxy, R3 denotes halogen, alkyl or cycloalkyl, R5 and R6 represent hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl or the radical -¢CH2!(1 or 2)-Ar, which can be alkyl-substituted in the chain and wherein Ar is an aromatic or heteroaromatic system optionally substituted by alkyl, alkoxy and/or halogen, and n is 1 or 2, R5 and R6 and/or two of the radicals R2, R3 and R4 forming a -¢CH2!m- chain with m = 3 to 6 which is optionally substituted by 1 or 2 methyl groups and which, in the case of R5 and R6, is also interrupted by oxygen atoms, sulfur atoms and/or imino groups, their physiologically tolerated salts, a process for their preparation, pharmaceutical formulations based thereon and their use as medicaments.
