PURPOSE:To permit various letters and pictures to be printed with good efficiency by providing a coater to coat liquid containing thermal color-forming agent and an electrolyte on a printing paper and an electric heater to develop the thermal color-forming agent in the coating liquid. CONSTITUTION:During the printing period, voltage is applied to an electromagnetic solenoid 38 and the tips of a coating head 10 and an electrifying head 11 come into contact with a printing paper 2. A carriage 6 move toward the direction of arrow (a), and a liquid 18 containing a thermal color-forming agent and an electrolyte is coated on the paper 2 by the tip of the porous material 17 of the head 10. The head 11 also moves on the paper 2 integrally after the head 10. In this case, the separate electrode group 26a of the head 11 is connected to a current supply source selectively according to printing signals, and current is supplied to the liquid 18 to heat the thermal color-forming agent and to print letters or pictures. |
