PURPOSE:To prevent production of a thread package without a thread end, by providing a control device, which outputting a signal when a thread guide is moved to a position near to a thread end forming position and the thread guide is in a state that no thread is fed thereto, and a display means which displays after receipt of the signal. CONSTITUTION:After the presence of a thread sensed by a piezo-electric element 12 is sent as a signal to an amplifying circuit 14, the signal is transferred to a computing circuit 15. Meanwhile, it is detected by a microswitch 13 that a thread guide 8 of a thread end forming rod 7 approaches a thread end forming position 2, and a signal therefrom is transmitted to the computing circuit 15. When the computing circuit 15 receives a signal from the microswitch 13, a signal is outputted if no signal from the piezo-electric element 12 is received. The signal is transmitted to a lamp 16 to light on the lamp 16. Thus, when a worker detects the unit of a thread winder where no thread end is formed, the unit is stopped to replace the bobbin.
