PURPOSE:To feed paper automatically, stably and certainly not only at the time of paper feed but also at the time of printing without damaging the paper or allowing the same to obliquely run, by providing the guide member moving between the first position for feeding the paper to the printing position of a platen and the second position for guiding the paper during printing and controlling the feed of the paper or the movement of the guide member part on the basis of a paper sensor for detecting the presence of the paper. CONSTITUTION:The separated leading end part of paper P is brought into contact with the outer peripheral surface of a platen roller 22 along paper guides 19, 20 and a pulse motor M1 is rotated by an X1-step in a feed direction. A paper sensor 24 detects a position where the front end part of the separated paper P slightly advances forwardly from a resist roller 21 and, when the ON- state of the paper sensor 24 is detected, the pulse motor M1 is further rotated by an X2-step in the feed direction. By this mechanism, the platen 22 is rotated and the separated paper P is further fed through a paper guide part consisting of a press spring 34 and a movable piper guide 27 and the front end part of the paper P is inserted in the rotary contact part of the platen roller 22 and an upper pinch roller 23. |
