PURPOSE:To obtain a mold for precision casting having good transference of product from the mold and dimensional accuracy by prescribing purity and grain blending of mullite used as the molding material. CONSTITUTION:As the mold for precision casting, the molding material is used by mullite having >=98% mullite and grain blending of by wt.% of 3-18% 10-20 mesh, 7-30% 20-100% mesh, 1-30% 200-325 mesh 30-75% 325 mesh under. In the molding material, if necessary, 1-30% alumina or 10-60% zirconia having 325 mesh under is contained. In this way, the mold for precision casting having good transference of product from the mold and dimensional accuracy is obtd.
