[Also in Divisions B1 and H1] Ferrites are produced by spraying or dripping a solution of the nitrates of the ferrite metals on to a mechanically agitated bed of granules of the ferrite, which bed is kept at a temperature, e.g. 250‹ C., to ensure substantially immediate drying and decomposition of the nitrate in each particle of solution on contacting the bed. The granules may further be calcined to obtain a spinal structure. The preparation of manganese zinc ferrite is referred to. In Fig. 2, nitrate solution is sprayed from heads 17 on to ferrite granule bed 14, which bed is agitated by screw 12 and heated by electric heating jacket 19. Overflow 15 maintains a normal level of the bed.
