A watch comprises a watch casing having a viewing window and means including at least one optical fibre for displaying timekeeping information in said window. Digital time indications are transmitted to the viewing window 18 by bundles 34 and 32 Fig. 3 (not shown) of optical fibres from markings on minute and hour wheels (26) and 28 disposed side by side. The bundles are tapered to provide magnification. In other embodiments (a) the minute and hour wheels are disposed concentrically (b) four bundles of optical fibres are provided for separate transmission of the tens and units digits (c) optical fibres transmit light from windows in the watch casing for illuminating the time indications on the minute and hour wheels (d) the time indications are luminescent and illuminated by a radio-active light emitting source (e) optical fibre bundles transmit coded information from the minute and hour wheels and terminate in bars at a viewing window, the bars being so arranged that when selective ones are illuminated, in accordance with the information on the minute and hour wheels, illuminated digits, indicating the time, appear in the viewing window.
