PURPOSE:To secure stability of an automobile under a high speed run while maintaining a required property of acceleration under a low speed run by providing such constitution as making a target value of slippage of driving wheels under a high speed run smaller than that for a low speed run. CONSTITUTION:The slip controller in the caption is built up with a torque regulation means D for applying torque to driving wheels B, a slip detecting means A for detecting any slippage of the driving wheels B against the ground, a slip control means E for receiving the output from the detecting means A to control the torque regulation means D for getting the slippage of the driving wheels B set up to a target value, a car speed detecting means C, and a target value correcting means F for making the target value smaller, when the car speed is large, than the value when said speed is small. Therefore, stability under a high speed run can be secured, while the target value is made large, that is, to secure sufficient grip force of tyres, under a low speed run, thus the requirement on acceleration can be satisfied. This process can be effected, of course, either stepwise or non-stepwise depending upon the car speed. |
