PURPOSE:To effectively improve rigidity of the peripheral part of a door opening, by a method wherein an inner and an outer plate are connected together approximately in an L-shape in cross section in an upper and a lower portion between which the west line of a reinforcing member is nipped. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing member 24 is formed below a west line WL approximately an L-shape with the one side part 24a, superposed and welded at W3 to a peripheral edge part 1b positioned facing a door opening part 4 extended along the direction of width of a rear fender 1, and the other side part 24b superposed and joined at W4 with a surface 2b, extended along the longitudinal direction of the car body, a rear pillar inner panel 2. A portion above the west line WL is superposed and joined at W5 along a shape in horizontal cross section of a stepped shape on the front side of a pillar outer part 1a.
