PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain a magnetic head with ease of processing by bonding a rear core to the rear side of a front core bonded with a magnetic reluctance decreasing core piece prolonged in the direction of head gap on a plane nearly orthogonal to the gap forming plane. CONSTITUTION:Gap regulating tilt slots 101, 201 are formed to one side face being a gap forming plane of head core members 100, 200 and the head core members are bonded to each side face of the remaining head core member 300 being a gap forming plane. Thus, the entire face of the gaps 102, 202 formed in this way is cut into the W shape, a split slot 301 is formed to the core member 300 to form slots 103, 203 connected to the slot 101, 202 from the rear face to the core members 100, 200. Then the cores are cut off along planes 401, 402 to form front cores 111, 211. Furthermore, the channel-shaped rear cores 112, 212 formed separately are bonded to the cores 111, 211. Thus, the efficient magnetic head with ease of processing is attained.
