PURPOSE:To prevent a developer from scattering from a developing device with a simple constitution by providing a 1st cover on the upstream side of a developer carrier in the rotating direction and nearby an image carrier, and providing a 2nd cover in parallel to said cover. CONSTITUTION:A developing sleeve 3 rotates as shown by an arrow and a developer 8 is controlled by a layer thickness control member 6 to specific layer thickness and conveyed to the image carrier 2. An air flow along the sleeve 3 is generated between the sleeve 3 and 1st cover as shown by an alternate long and short dash line as the sleeve 3 rotates. The developer 8 is interposed closely between the member 6 and sleeve 3, so the flow of air is made bad and negative pressure is generated behind the member 6. An air flow shown as shown by an alternate along and short dash arrow is generated between the cover 4 and the 2nd cover 5a and the developer which is suspended in a development area 9 as development is carried out is conveyed by the airflow to return to behind the member 6. Thus, the developer 8 which scatter to outside the developing device 1 is reduced greatly. |
