PURPOSE:To obtain modified cross-section yarn providing carpets having excellent bulkiness, heat retaining properties, cushioning characteristics and durability, having a section wherein plural multilobar shapes are radiately connected at the tip of one lobe. CONSTITUTION:A melting resin such as polyester, etc., is spun by the use of a spinneret having extrusion holes wherein plural (preferably 3-4) multilobar- shaped holes are laid round a central hole 3 in such a way that the tip of one lobe of each multilobar shape is radiately brought close to the central hole 3 to give a modified cross-section yarn having a section wherein plural multilobar shapes are radiately connected at the tip of one lobe, slightly collapsing and hardly being deformed.
