THE STABILITY METHOD OF ANTIBIOTICS

An antimicrobial prepn. of D-7-[α -4-hydroxy-6methylnicotinamido)-4- hydroxyphenylacetamido -3-(1-methyltetrazol5-yl) thiomethyl-Δ3-cephen-4-sodium carboxylate (A) of enhanced stability consists of a microbially effective amt. of (A) and a stabilizer such as benzoic acid, Na benzoate, and nicotinamido. Thus, a soln. of (A) 10 parts by g potency unit and Na benzoate 1 part by wt. in injectable distd. H2O is adjusted to PH 7 with NaOH and/or HCl and filter-sterilized. Each 4ml of this soln. contg. 0.5g potency unit of (A) is poured into vials and lyophilized.
