PURPOSE:To improve the space factor of a multicolor printing press, by arranging a web drying means to a space surrounded by a plurality of printing units. CONSTITUTION:The web 4 delivered from an unwinder 2 reaches the first printing unit 10 composed of a rotary letterpress machine, a rotary intaglio printing machine, a lithographic rotary press or an electrostatic printing unit and ink is supplied to a plate cylinder 12 from an inking arrangement 14 and the printing of the first color is applied between the plate cylinder 12 and an impression cylinder 16. Subsequently, the printing from the second-fourth colors is performed between the second fourth printing units 20-40 in the same manner and the web is taken up by a rewinder 6 but the first-fourth printing units 10-40 are arranged in an annular shape and a drying means 50 constituted of several heating rolls 52, 54, 56, 58 supporting the drying of the ink printed on the web 4 is arranged to the space S surrounded by said printing units. By this method, a space factor can be enhanced.
