PURPOSE:To perform a copying operation with simple constitution and with a single hand, by pressing a roller on an original via an object medium, and moving a main body relatively for the original. CONSTITUTION:Engagement between a pin 19 and a hook 17 is released by moving a stopper 18 downward, and a distance between a platen 11 and a thermal head 9 is increased by turning a head base 16 centering a fulcrum 15, and a sheet of thermosensible paper 10 is inserted to a cavity, and by inserting the sheet of thermosensible paper 10 between the roller 36 and the main body 1, then, it is drawn out. Next, the platen 11 is adhered closely with a thermal head 9 via the sheet of thermosensible paper 10 by turning the head base 16 adversely. The main body 1 of a copying machine is confronted with the original 2 by holding it with a hand, and the main body 1 is moved forward pressing it downward keeping an operating button 13 depressed. The sheet of thermosensible paper 10 and the original 2 are moved relatively for the main body 1 by the rolling friction force of the roller 36. An illuminating means 5 projects the original, and a picture imaging means reads the original. The sheet of photosensible paper 10 is heated according to the output, then, copying is performed.
