PURPOSE:To detect the generation of the cracked gas from SF6-gas by a simple structure on the basis of the change in the power loss of the light passed through a cracked gas detection part, by arranging the cracked gas detection part composed of an optical fiber in a container having the SF6-gas confined therein. CONSTITUTION:The light transmitted from an optical fiber 2 is transmitted through the optical fiber 8 in a container 10 through connectors 4, 5 to pass through a cracked gas detection part 8a and emitted from the end surface of the cracked gas detection part 8b provided to the end past of said detector 8a. This light is incident on the optical fiber 9 provided in close vicinity to said detection part 8b from the end surface thereof and passes through a connector 7 to be sent to an optical fiber 3. Since the cracked gas detection part 8a and the cracked gas detection part 8b bring power loss to the light transmitted by the generation of cracked gas, by measuring the power of the light transmitted through the optical fiber 3, the presence of the generation of the cracked gas can be detected.
