PURPOSE:To improve inference speed and to shorten processing time by converting a semantic network into a matrix equation and executing it by means of a numerical value processing. CONSTITUTION:For finding a conclusion 6 from input data 5, meaning data equivalent to expert knowledge is converted into the matrix equation with an approximate expression means 3 by using the semantic network (Petri net model) in a meaning net expression means 2. A meaning analysis means 4 analyzes the meaning, executes the inference processing of forward-looking inference and backward-looking inference and derives the conclusion.
