PURPOSE:To uniformly purify water to be treated in a wide region and to easily perform filtration at low cost and to increase the effective area of a filter bed and to prevent clogging thereof by packing and laminating a filter medium on both a plate body formed with a strainer and a spherical strainer. CONSTITUTION:Many pieces of plate bodies 1 formed with a reticulate strainer are spread all over the base 22a of a water tank 20 at the position nearly upper than the base 22a and many pieces of spherical strainers 2 which are projected to the positions upper than the surfaces of the respective plate bodies 1 are arranged to the plate bodies 1 at proper intervals. A filter medium 17 is packed and laminated on the above-mentioned plate bodies 1 and spherical strainers 2 and the water present in the lower side of respective plate bodies 1 is sucked with a pump 23. As a result, water to be treated is passed and cleaned through the filter medium 17 by the suction force of the pump 23 and foreign materials are removed by the spherical strainers 2 and the reticulate strainer formed on the surfaces of plate bodies 1 and therefore purified water is discharged from the lower side of the plate bodies 1.
