Seal or sealing ring 1 for pipes with male 4 and female 2 ends, intended to be mounted beforehand in the female end 2 of a pipe 3. This sealing ring has at least one first segment 1b, 1c for bearing on and/or fixing to the frustoconical bearing surface 2a, 2b of the female end 2. One of these segments 1b comes into abutment against a peripheral shoulder 2c of the female end 2 and is extended by an internal lip 1d on which there is provided at least a second segment 1a for bearing on and/or for fixing in the junction zone between the bearing surface 2a of the female end 2 and the pipe body 3. <IMAGE>
