PURPOSE:To avoid the effect of impurity or a decomposed product, by using a compound having a steroid skeletal as an internal standard substance at the time of the analysis of oil-soluble vitamins by chromatography. CONSTITUTION:A compound represented by general formula is used as an internal standard substance. In this compound, as an acyl group represented by R<1>, alkanoyl, alkenylcarbonyl or arylcarbonyl is designated and, as a hydrocarbon residue represented by R<2>, 1-15C straight chain or branched chain alkyl, alkenyl or alkinyl is designated. As the compound represented by the formula, a compound wherein a steroid skeletal part is ergosterol is pref.
