PURPOSE:To increase the rigidity of a thrust bearing and permit the superior lubrication by forming a plurality of projection parts and recessed parts which are deformed in the thickness direction. CONSTITUTION:A bimetal consists of a steel back metal layer 1 and a bearing alloy layer 2. The bimetal is punched out into a ring form 4 by using a press- machine, and at the same time, a plurality of recessed parts 5a and 5b are deformed in the circumferential direction and a plurality of projection parts 6a and 6b are deformed in the thickness direction. Further, at the same time, a projection 7 for positioning and preventing rotation which projects outwardly in the radial direction is formed. Therefore, a plurality of projection parts 6a form a sliding surface for supporting the load in the thrust direction, and a plurality of recessed parts 5a form an oil groove, and the inflow passage for lubricating oil is formed, and lubrication is improved.
