PURPOSE:To improve the contrast of a display of a liquid crystal display plate by providing a lenticular lens on both the surface and the reverse side, and providing a light shielding layer on the circumference of the lenticular lens of the face positioned in the light incident side. CONSTITUTION:On the light incident side face of a lens plate 1, a light incident side lenticular lens 2 is provided, and on the circumference of an axis 4 of the light incident side lenticular lens 2, a light shielding layer 5 is provided. It will suffice that the axis 4 of the light incident side lenticular lens 2 in the lens plate 1 and the axis of a light emitting side lenticular lens 3 coincide roughly with each other, but especially, it is desirable that they coincide entirely. As for a light beam emitted from each point of, for instance, point a, point B ... point F, and point G of the light emitting side lenticular lens 3 by said light shielding layer 5, the light beam of a range for making some prescribed angle: theta against the optical axis is not emitted, and only a light beam for making an angle of >=theta against the optical axis is emitted. In such a way, an element to which a voltage is not impressed looks black, a contrast between this element and an element which has become white by impressing a voltage becomes high, and a liquid crystal display can be easily confirmed.
