PURPOSE:To obtain a stereoscopic display image by using spectacles with a linearly polarizing plate and a circularly polarizing plate of which polarizing directions are different, by forming polarizing films of which polarizing directions are different, at every picture element line in a twisted nematic type liquid crystal panel. CONSTITUTION:On a substrate 5, a polarizing film 7 of which polarizing direction coincides with a picture element line direction is formed in an area corresponding to an odd picture element line and a polarizing film 6 of which polarizing direction is different by 90 deg. from the polarizing direction of the polarizing film 7 is formed in an area corresponding to an even picture element line, and also, on a substrate 1, a polarizing film 4 of which polarizing direction conforms with one of the polarizing films 6, 7 on the substrate 5 is formed. In this state, by looking at the display surface by attaching linearly polarizing plates of which polarizing directions are different by 90 deg. to right and left spectacles, an image obtained through the polarizing film 6 and 7 is obtained through the spectacles having the polarizing direction which coincides with its polarizing direction, respectively, and cut by one spectacles. In such a way, a stereoscopic display can be created. |
