[Class 23.] The drum a of a washing centrifuge has the outlet openings d for liquid arranged in a circle in the drum wall and a ring e is placed in the drum in front of the openings to prevent fabrics from entering them. The ring may be of resilient material of any cross section and has one or more handles e<1>; it is held in place by projections f, or by a ridge pressed on the inside of the drum wall. Outlets h may be provided in the base of the drum so that a substantial part of the water can escape quickly. Where the drum is of the double conical type the outlets d and ring are placed at the widest part. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, the holes d are made in a channel pressed out of the drum wall. The drum a and the bearing recess l may be made in two parts and the holes h are then arranged at the junction of the two parts as shown in Fig. 8. |
