The table implement has a wooden head (1) which can be attached to a handle (2) of some other material, e.g. metal or plastics. The head and handle are joined together by a shank (3). The shank fits into a handle socket (8) and is held in place by claws (6,7) engaging with notches (4,5) in the shank. In variants of the joint, the shank can attach to the handle by a threaded end and socket or by a spring-loaded bayonet joint. ADVANTAGE - Allows use of wooden head, giving improved taste to food.
