PURPOSE:To completely eliminate the dust and to improve reliability of a magnetic disk by burnishing the surfaces of plural magnetic disks assembled to a spindle in a clean air environment. CONSTITUTION:The arms 40(401, 402) consisting of plate springs are put into an attachment hole 39 of a burnishing carriage 38 set opposite to disks 1(11-13). The lapping tapes 41 are stuck on the tips of arms 40. The carriage 38 is moved in the radius direction of the disk 1 and the tape 41 rubs the disk surface for burnishing. The clean air is blown onto the disk surface through an opening 36 and discharged through an opening 37. In such a way, the dust is completely deleted and therefore a magnetic head is never bounded nor crushed. Then the reliability of a magnetic disk is extremely improved. |
