The sail held between a mast (9) and a forked boom (10) is provided with separate sail sections (2, 3) fixed by their yard-arm to the main after-leech (4) of the overall lower sail (1) by means of spring elements (7) and each subjected to a different trimming tension with its individual after-leech (5, 6). When the wind force increases the sail automatically acts in a reef-tying manner, whereby first the sail section (3) and then the sail section (2) perform the ''adjustment''. When the wind drops, the total size of the sail is restored.
|
