PURPOSE:To prevent dry-burning of a humidifying tray, by a method wherein a float switch is situated in a water tank, and through detection of a water level by means of the float switch, the circuit of a heater for heating is cut off in a state that a specified amount of water remains in the humidifying tray. CONSTITUTION:The bottom part of a humidifying tray 2 is coupled to a water tank 5 in which to store water from a feed water tank 4, the inner bottoms of the water tank 5 and the humidifying tray 2 are positioned in the same level as each other. A float switch 8, cutting off the circuit of a heater 3 when a water level 7 lowers, is mounted in the water tank 5. The working point of the float switch 8 is set so that it is actuated in a position where a water level in the humidifying tray lowers to a position near the inner bottom. Thus, since, when water in the feed water tank 4 runs short, the water level 7 in the water tank 5 lowers, the float switch 8 is actuated, and the circuit of the heater 3 of the humidifying tray 2 is shut off. Since water still remains in the humidifying tray 2, dry-burning is prevented from occurring.
