Injection pump for an internal combustion engine which is controlled independently of the operating camshaft and without intervention in rotating parts by displacement of the tappet roller (2) in the running direction of the drive cam (1) perpendicular to the axis of the injection element. The pump is adjusted by the control lever (10), which engages in a groove (11), laterally fitted on the guide body (6) and by acting on the piston (9) transmits the movement to the guide (6). The guide (6) is swivelled in its position in a manner free of lateral forces and displaces the transmission element (3) with the roller (2) in the running direction of the drive cam (1) (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
