The invention relates to a pneumatic spring for supporting an oscillating body (for example wagon body of rail vehicles and/or motor vehicles or structural components thereof such as cabs and seats) on a base which has undercarriage, chassis, axle or bogey, comprising a hose-shaped bellows made of rubber or rubber-like plastic with reinforcement inlays, the said bellows being located in a support bearing, one end of the bellows being connected via a clamping ring to the support bearing and the other end being attached to a rolling contour, and the variable interior of the bellows being connected to a pressurised gas reservoir by a line. The central feature of this invention consisting in the fact that the reinforcement inlays consist of threads which are arranged in a single layer and in parallel in the axial direction of the bellows.
