In a bottom socket (1) which is provided for the production of sockets (15) which are to be sealed by means of rolling rings, a sliding ring (5) is arranged as an alternative plug-in seal before the commencement of the manufacturing of the concrete pipe (16), said sliding ring (5) comprising a flexible sealing part (6) and a retaining part (8) which is fastened on said sealing part - preferably via a thinner connecting part (7) - and on which there is integrally formed at least one anchoring foot (10) - which has been concreted into the socket wall of the finished concrete pipe (16). The surface of the sealing part (6), which, in its end mounting position, is directed towards the inner wall (17) of the socket (15), forms, according to the invention, part of the end wall (14) of the socket (15) until the shuttering removal of the concrete pipe (16). Retaining part (8) and/or connecting part (7) are, in this arrangement, fitted on the rounded part (2) of the bottom socket (1) such that they are radially further inwards, towards the pipe axis, than the sealing part (6). Using in each case the same steel bottom sockets (1), the two totally different concrete-pipe sealing systems - loose rolling-ring seals and concreted-in, secured plug-in seals - can be cost-effectively manufactured without any change in shuttering, this considerably increasing the technical production flexibility of the concrete-pipe works, while manufacturing costs remain the same for the two sealing systems. <IMAGE>
