In bulk-goods packaging machines, which are equipped with a (shaping) mandrel wheel, the blank is first laid around a long side in a U-shape, then the side tongues are folded, and finally the bottom is produced on the end of the mandrel. In this method of production a three-layer bottom generally results. If, however, the blank is first folded in a U-shape about the end, a bottom-fold bag with a single bottom results, which means a lower packaging materials requirement. In order to be able to begin the shaping process of the blank on the end of the mandrel, a packaging material table is arranged parallel to the underside of the mandrels so as to be rotatable upwards through 90@ in front of the end of a mandrel. The U-folders are designed as tapered rolls movable on both sides along the mandrel on a circular path and rotatable about their taper axis, and the drive is designed as a multi-part Geneva drive. This device may favourably be installed in bulk-goods packaging machines in which the prepared button-fold bags are immediately filled and closed. <IMAGE> |
