The saddle support for a bicycle or motor cycle comprises a saddle carrier tube (4) telescopically slidable in a guide tube (5) and supported (10) therein by a spring (17) arranged around a rod (11). The rod has an external screw thread which carries a nut (16) at its lower end (11') to permit adjusting the spring force. The outer tube (5) is provided with two diametrically opposed axial slots (19) containing the outer ends of a stop element or plate (20) which is secured by a diametric pin (23) in that tube (5) and extends through axial slots (19') in the inner tube (4) to limit its axial movement and prevent its rotation. USE/ADVANTAGE - The spring saddle support assembly for a bicycle is considerably lighter and simpler than prior art and minimises risk of problems.
