COLD ROLLING METHOD FOR METALLIC FOIL

PURPOSE:To prevent generation of the herringbone to damage the surface of metallic foil on said surface and to enhance productivity by passing a material to be rolled before being supplied to a rolling mill through a moisture applying region so that moisture is stuck onto the material surface, then subjecting said material to cold rolling. CONSTITUTION:The so-called herringbone to generate the damages on the surface of the metallic foil 5 is more liable to arise the higher the rolling load and rolling speed are regulated at the time of passing the material 4 to be rolled through the rolling mill 1 and cold rolling the metallic foil 5. The material 4 before being supplied to the mill 1 is subjected to the sticking of the moisture thereto in the moisture applying region AR in order to suppress the generation of the herringbone. A pair of nozzles 30 are provided in a case 25 of the region AR. The set value in a humidity setter 24 and the detected value of a humidity sensor 26 which detects the humidity in the case 25 are guided to a driving control means 23 which in turn controls a spraying means 22 to apply the moisture from the nozzles 30 to the material 4. The generation of the herringbone is suppressed even if the material 4 is thereafter passed through the mill 1 and is rolled.
