PURPOSE:To easily and exactly observe both the inner wall of a vacuum container of a nuclear reactor and a plasma phenomenon with miniaturized and high profitable constitution, by allowing the incident light of a prescribed angle to reflect and transmit a prescribed quantity, by a special mirror fixed at an angle of 45 deg. against a periscope. CONSTITUTION:To a periscope 1 attached by penetrating a wall of a vacuum container, a special mirror 5 is attached at an angle of 45 deg. in the axial direction, and reflected light from the inner wall of the vacuum container by irradiated light from a lamp 3 is made incident on its surface at an incident angle 45 deg., and >=95% is reflected in the axial direction of the periscope. On the other hand, when the lamp 3 is turned off, plasma discharging light of the bottom part of the vacuum container is made incident on the reverse side of the mirror 5 at 45 deg., and >=50% transmits through the mirror 5. Accordingly, by miniaturized and high profitable constitution for only moving up and down and turning the periscope without turning the mirror 5, both the inner wall of the vacuum container of a nuclear reactor, and a plasma phenomenon can be easily and exactly observed.
