For the limit-value control of a fan, use is made of a limit-value curve which lies in the boundary region between stable and unstable operation and which represents the connection between drive power and impeller blade angle in the boundary region. In this case, the drive power of the fan is measured and compared with that value which results for the respective blade angle on the basis of the limit-value curve, and, according to the comparison result, the blade angle is adjusted in such a manner that the fan is operated in stable operation up to the limit curve. <IMAGE>
