PURPOSE:To simultaneously obtain a video signal by connecting a series circuit comprising a capacitive element and a switch element conducted during the period of storage of electric charge subjected to light stimulation from a photodiode in parallel with the photodiode. CONSTITUTION:A switch element FT1 is conducted during the storage time of an electric charge stimulated by a photodiode PD1 and a photoelectric current outputted from the photodiode PD1 flows to the capacitive element C1 connected in parallel with the photodiode PD1 via the switch element FT1. As a result, the charging state of the capacitive element C1 is changed and the voltage across the element is changed. When the storage time of the electric charge is finished, the switch element FT1 is turned off and the video signal is extracted sequentially based on the charging state of the capacitive element of each picture element. The storage period of the electric charge is set for the same period in all picture elements by controlling the conductive period of the switch element in this way.
