The horizontal peeling centrifuge has a drum (2) rotating in bearings in a housing (1). To counteract the imbalance as the drum rotates, three or more chambers (4) are evenly spaced round the outside wall (3) of the drum, and can be filled with liquid to give a counterbalancing effect. The balance chambers can be contained in an annular intermediate chamber between the drum wall and an outer casing (6) coaxial to the latter, and in the form of ring segments covering the entire drum wall periphery. USE/ADVANTAGE - Counterbalancing system for centrifuge. Reduces size of bearings and foundations necessary.
