Workpiece transport system for heat treatment furnace - has shoes with linear roller bearings running on rail

Workpieces are transported through a continuous flow heat treatment furnace by shoes (6) which slide on rails (8). The shoes have an inverted U shape with their flanges turned inwards to fit around the edges (5) of the rail flanges. Each shoe is supported on two linear roller bearings with the end of each roller (14) attached to an endless chain. The bearings are mounted in longitudinal grooves in the under surface of the shoe and are held in place by a plate (13) which also serves as a track for the rollers. ADVANTAGE - The rollers and chain are made from a heat resisting steel and need no lubrication.
