The forked boom is fixed by means of a headpiece to the mast of a sail-board, which headpiece has elastic half-shells to provide fore and aft support on the mast which are offset in relation to one another in such a way that the headpiece can be slid loosely on the mast if the forked boom adopts an approximately 45° angular position in relation to the longitudinal axis of the mast. If the forked boom is then pivoted into the operating position at right angles to the mast axis, the half-shells of the headpiece receive the mast in a fixed clamping position, as a result of which the forked boom is firmly held in its operating position.
|
